(ONLY Session 1) - Auditorium Welcome to Liberty! This session is designed for parents brand new to the high school experience. We will review information on buses, lunch, schedules (reading and understanding), PAWS (flex), lockers, buying a PE uniform, and participation in a clubs or extra-curricular activities. We will also answer any of your questions to help with the transition to high school. Through review of the student educational career plans (ECP), speakers will address career majors, career related internships, dual enrollment, career and technology programs and completer programs. What are graduation requirements? What do students need to do in order to demonstrate college and career readiness (CCR)? This session is designed to orient you to the opportunities and requirements as they relate to college and career readiness and graduation requirements. This session will help you make sure you are planning ahead and know what to expect with testing, preparing for a career and college. Join this conversation to learn more about how the counseling department at LHS works with students. Discuss the best ways to utilize the school counseling services. Technology is a key component of the instructional program at LHS. This session will share how LHS supports Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD), acceptable use policy, digital citizenship (social media), and ways to stay connected with LHS. Leader: Mrs. Mayo and Mrs. Hamilton Parent Involvement (ONLY Session 2 & 3) - Auditorium Research shows that parent involvement drops off as students transition from middle to high school – Liberty HS is proud to not have this issue.
